Art Asia and SAMA present Qawwal Warsi Brothers live in Southampton
Saturday 25 April 2026, 7pm
Art Asia is proud to present a special one-night performance by the internationally acclaimed Qawwal Warsi Brothers at Turner Sims on Saturday 25 April at 7pm.
This rare event offers audiences the chance to experience authentic Sufi qawwali performed by one of the most respected living exponents of the tradition.
The Warsi Brothers, Naseer Ahmed Khan Warsi and Nazeer Ahmed Khan Warsi, are direct descendants of the legendary Qawwal Bachhey lineage, tracing their roots back to the 13th century and the pioneering poet-musician Amir Khusrau. Based in Hyderabad, they are widely regarded as leading custodians of traditional qawwali, preserving a rich repertoire of devotional music passed down through generations.
Performed with a full ensemble, their concerts are immersive and emotionally powerful, combining soaring vocals, rhythmic hand clapping and intricate improvisation. Rooted in spiritual expression, qawwali continues to resonate deeply with audiences worldwide.
Winners of the Aga Khan Music Awards 2025
The brothers were recently honoured at the Aga Khan Music Awards 2025 in London.
Dahlia Jamil, Chief Executive of Art Asia, said: “Art Asia is delighted to present the Qawwal Warsi Brothers in Southampton. This is a rare opportunity to experience qawwali in its most authentic and powerful form, performed by artists who are deeply rooted in its history and tradition. It promises to be a truly memorable evening.”
